The River
You know a dream is like a river. ever changin’ as it flows and a dreamer’s just a vessel that must follow where it goes. The dreamer must especially follow that vessel when it involves having two coolers of beer tied to it. That’s exactly what I found myself in this summer during an impressive heat wave (heat waves for us usually push the temperature of 30-35 degrees Celsius ). If there is one thing we can handle it is the cold, we’re particularly well at it but when it comes to long stretches of heat us Canadians need to cool off in the worst way. Let me introduce you to the the farm and more importantly “The River”
Don’t view this during the winter, it will make you hate living here even more
One thing about living in Edmonton over the years was the fact that I didn’t get a lot of time to spend time down at the farm. I’ve always considered myself more urbanized and really enjoy the city lifestyle compared to most others living around Beaverlodge but if there was one thing I missed the most (besides playing hockey of course) it was the ability to go to the farm. There is nothing better then being at the river enjoying the sun and usually some cold beverages in the summer time, something I wasn’t able to access in Edmonton. Finding somewhere to float probably wasn’t to hard to track down in teh big city but it’s the sole fact that you have the entire river to yourself in most instances.
Needless to say I’ll be taking advantage of this again and again this summer.
Regardless I’ve finally taken the time to update the layout of the photo section of this website and am proud to get it out of the way and have it working. With that said I’ve uploaded a slew of pictures courtesy of Snelly Belly and posted them in the photo section under the album title “The River“.
Over the course of the next few days I will be uploading my pictures from New Years Pink and White party as well. I pulled the ultimate brainfart and ruined all my video from that evening by recording it all in a time lapse, thankfully I’ve got plenty of footage from our journey to Edmonton this past week to take in two of the worst hockey games I’ve ever watched as well as some other mischief we got up to.
Enjoy!
