Final Destination

Believe me the title is misleading so I know what you’re thinking and before you leave no this isn’t another ramble about moving to Grande Prairie, I’ve done that enough over the past few weeks and I’m pretty sure everyone in there right minds already know and don’t care. This is more so a ramble about having one of those (or in my case many) moments that seems almost eerie.

A couple weeks ago I posted something on my Facebook page about a woman who was supposed to be on Flight 447 from France that tragically crashed into the Atlantic. This woman was late for the plane and ultimately it saved her life…albeit temporarily as no later then a week she perished in a car accident.

Coincidence? Maybe. I for one couldn’t help but think of that movie titled Final Destination.

Walks Final Destination

In the movie a bunch of students are en route to France (I think) on a class trip when one of them has a vision before take off that the plane explodes moments after take off. Sure enough he wakes up, spazzes out, gets himself and others kicked off the plane only to watch moments later after take off the plane blows up in mid-air. The rest of the movie has death chasing them because they were supposed to perish on the plane with the rest of the others which ultimately leads to gruesome deaths and an end to the movie.

Not really a lot of point to my story but it’s immediately what I was thinking of from the weird yet rare occurrences I’ve had this past week. Some of my friends are aware of the freakish spree of death dreams I had a couple summers ago, all of which resulted in me lying dead in a pool of my own blood or friends themselves getting gruesomely killed, one favorite being a couple people I hadn’t seen in ages getting blown up while filling up there car at a gas station. The best though involved me having my head chopped off with an axe. Seeing my body squirming on the ground with my head twitching in a pool of blood left me a little uneasy the next day as I always thought you weren’t supposed to see yourself die in a dream, something I found out was a complete fabrication thanks to the internet.

Which leads me to this week and once again having that strange feeling that’s freaked me out a touch. If you’ve ever had those moments where you think someone is watching you or had a strange case of deja vu you’ll relate to this but if not I’m quite confident you’ll think I’m crazy (I’d argue you think that already). I guess I should clarify that it happened over the course of last week up till Sunday.

Tuesday: Working away on my computer I turn to my bedside clock to see the time being 9:11 pm.

Wednesday Morning: For some odd reason the microwave timer in the morning is paused at 9 minutes 11 seconds.

Wednesday Evening: Driving I again catch the clock at 9:11 pm.

Thursday Morning: I lie in my bed and decide its time to get up because the Realtor is coming at 11 and, yup you guessed it, the clock reads 9:11 am.

Thursday Evening: Rinse and repeat the same thing.

Friday: The curse is broken! At least until

Saturday: When I see that same time on my iphone at the coaches clinic in Grant Mac.

Since then I haven’t noticed anything to spooky, maybe because I’m to busy pulling out my hair with all the happenings around me right now.

To tell you the truth though I don’t know what convinced me to write about this but I’m bored and people complain to me that his website isn’t updated enough, which for the most part is true. I suppose some of you are thinking I’m a weirdo but lets face it, I play goal so most of you already thought that anyway. What I really wonder is if someone is trying to tell me something? What do you think?

Loony bin? Straight jacket? Run and hide? Death? I’m a touch curious to know if anyone ever had something similar happen to them so please indulge me!

If this is my last post EVER then please for the love of god someone buy my condo!

EDIT:: Ok so just to follow up on this, ever since I finished writing this

Playing NHL 09 with Rob Dog it paused at 9:11…

Then today (Friday June 19th) I was lying in bed when I got a text message this morning at 9:11 am from the Big Show and to follow it up I got another text message this evening at 9:11 pm from Roche.

It has to be more then a coincidence no?

The Grand Daddy, godfather, greybush, manatee, etc of Hotstickybun Walks has been writing, designing, and re-designing this website for over 5 years in hopes of one day finding someone gullible enough to purchase it for over a million dollars so he can move to Mexico and live on a beach sipping margaritas all day.

If something tragic (fingers crossed that it doesn’t) can I have your goalie equipment? I’m thinking of trying it out for rec league next winter.

Keep dreaming, you dont have the ability to play goal let alone the skill required to put the equipment on

The freaky thing is while just playing NHL 09 the clock stopped at 9:11, even Rob Dog is scared to hang out with me

  • Big Show

I’m glad I can be a part of your horrific events…

How hard can it be? I just need to be a little insane in the membrane like most goalers and I’ll be fine.

You are NOT crazy. That shit happens to me all the time. If you haven’t heard of Deepak Chopra, look him up. He describes this as Kharmic Significance and states there is no such thing as coincidence. The Universe is trying to give you a message and you should pay attention to the trail to see where it leads. And it will lead somewhere. The ‘event’ will keep happening until you see the message. In his lectures, he talks about one situation where he kept seeing the color yellow. At the end of the trail, he landed a huge business venture with Stash Teas creating an Ayurvedic type that he created (packaged in yellow), all by these so-called coincidences.
Mine was involving the phrase Blue Sky (sound familiar?) Anyway, I kept seeing it for almost a year until it lead me to a longshot horse that ran at Turf Paradise and was trained by Blue Sky Stable. It won last year and paid over $70!! I even told Troy I should bet on it but I didn’t :( Lesson learned.
