Unless you have a weak stomach you’ve probably witnessed the movie Hostel. While most of you have already experienced life inside Hostels on your travels I haven’t and honestly I cant help but wonder if there are some absolute sick f^&ks out there running some sort of inhumane business like the one portrayed in the movie. While the flick probably stretches the truth it still has that certain aspect of it making the non traveler wonder and second guess ever staying in a Hostel.
If you haven’t seen the movie then you should at least take in the first one, I just finished watching the second movie and it followed arguably down the same storyline as the first. From what I heard the second was supposed to be a lot gorier but aside from the ending there wasn’t a whole heck of a lot of blood and guts in the movie. Basically the story follows down the line of American College kids who decide to take a detour on there European Backpacking adventure to these supposed Oasis’s only to be duped and kidnapped by the people that led them there who ultimately end up selling them to the highest bidder for some sort of death by torture. The real genius in the movie is the revenge factor, both movies have someone escape (albeit both with different ways) and exact some revenge on the ones hell bent on torturing them and operating the business. Christ who wouldn’t be feeling the same rage and wanting to piss on the ashes of these people who tried to kill you.
In reality though one has to wonder if this kind of place exists. Lollipopers will say no because they think the world is a relatively good place and they have trouble seeing outside of there perfect lives to see the bigger picture. They occasionally watch the news but tend to only catch the first half on whats happening in their neck of the woods. Degenerates such as myself see the bigger picture and realize the world for what it is, one f’d up place.
Are you kidding me? Of course a place like this can exist and if you don’t think it can then your the most naive moron I know. We live in one of the most sadistic ages in recent history and instead of things getting better they continually get worse. Religious wars continue to grow, the world’s superpowers continue to build arms in defense waiting for the first one to strike (and it will happen), and of course who can forget today’s youth. Kids today are being raised by drug dealers and murders, they wander the streets (outside my place) stealing shit, people stabbing people because they cant fight with there fists, mugging elders, shit the list goes on and on.
The sad thing is at times the law seems to be getting just as bad. Imagine your Grandma getting taserd! Do I blame the police…to a degree( a very small one), really though what the hell do we expect when they try to uphold some sort of cival law only to have some idiot 14 years old think its cool stabbing someone.
When a man can kill his wife and put her under the Christmas Tree or parents can attempt to sell there child for $300 you cant argue the fact that people today are f’d. Sure Hostel is just a movie but with the way people these days I can only assume that there is some sadistic bastard who has done or is planning on doing this in the future and oddly enough they probably got the idea from watching the movie.
Reading about today is depressing in itself and I cant help but think about another movie in The Devil’s Advocate. I’m not a religious person what so ever but one cant help but wonder if we’re actually living in hell. “Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven”, is that it?
One of these days something is going to happen and the world will come to a complete standstill and at that time the human race will have to take a long look at themselves in the mirror and think about getting there shit together. Revenge was great to watch in Hostel but the next time around when someone in today’s society drops a bomb or kills some political leader revenge will be best served cold.
Wow, that was deep wasn’t it.
Regardless as a civilization the human race is screwed.
