Life in the Suck

Life in Fort McMurray is making me stir crazy. Despite all my constant bashing of the city of Grande Prairie I’ll tell you I have a new found respect for it after living on the other side of the province. In a lot of ways both cities are similar but it’s those little differences that have started forcing me to talk to myself among other things. Thankfully I’m on a short little vacation after a month or so of work to recollect myself before I lose my MIND! Is it as bad as I make it sound, probably not but the other peeps Im living with share my same philosophy and can’t wait to get as far away as possible when days off begin…

First I need to clear a few things; I think a couple people got confused with my location after they were stalking my profile on Facebook. I didn’t move to Phoenix for school although it certainly would have been nice too. Unfortunately I ended up in The Suck (oorah!). The Suck is the term our household has dubbed the city so if you hear me cursing about it you’ll understand.

Granted it hasn’t been that horrible, Im sure if you had lived there your whole life and were used to it you wouldn’t find a problem. I have had the opportunity to stretch my wings a little; just recently I had the unfortunate business of being a judge in the Miss Hawaiian Tropics at Cowboys. Heaven forbid I have to stare at girls in bikini’s all night right? Hopefully I’ll be able to get my hands on the pictures from the evening so I can showcase the 5 finalists and make them worldly famous by the exposure they’ll get on hotstickybun.

Just a couple weeks before that I took a turn for the worse and got blackout drunk after a day of golf at the Upshall/Phillips Golf Tournament. The only thing I won was a hangover and I believe that’s the first time in my life where I’ve woken up and still been blackout drunk after passing out. The NHL’rs in attendance at the tourney were out in full force and it was comical to see Tootoo lose about 900 bucks to a buddy playing rock, paper, scissors all night. I’m almost confident he would have kept playing had it not been for the broad that was hanging all over his arm, still you got to respect the puck. A lot of women can play the role but when some famous star or athlete is around all good intentions go out the window…its OK ladies all guys would go the distance with any famous leading lady.

Needless to say the Suck has had its moments but the steady flow of r-tards and drugs in that town are abundant. After going out and watching people I’ve come to the conclusion that maybe most people there are all going a little crazy.

Regardless I will be back in Edmonton at some point this fall ready for school and ready to attend the Oil games no matter how bad we end up this season, losing all 82 games this year and watching it will be better then having to be in the Suck.

PS. A heads up to all past, present, and future Canadian Geese hockey players, we are putting together a temporary list for next years hockey tournament. We have decided that we will indeed be making a effort to head to Fort Lauderdale Florida for this years edition. We will need total commitment this year. Entry fees will be paid up front and Smitty and I will work on coming up with a package we can send to everyone over the next couple weeks. Expect to hear something from us in the next month or so. We will also be looking at getting jerseys finished so keep that in mind as well.

PPS. I am still looking for a new roommate for my condo in Edmonton asap. Please if anyone knows or hears of anyone looking don’t hesitate to get in touch with me. I will fill you in on the details and answer any questions they have.

The Grand Daddy, godfather, greybush, manatee, etc of Hotstickybun Walks has been writing, designing, and re-designing this website for over 5 years in hopes of one day finding someone gullible enough to purchase it for over a million dollars so he can move to Mexico and live on a beach sipping margaritas all day.
